Morgan State returned to Hill Field House on Wednesday night looking to build on its season-opening victory over Cheyney, welcoming the Virginia University of Lynchburg Dragons for another early test before heading on the road.

The Bears established control quickly, with Alfred Worrell Jr. scoring 16 points in the opening seven minutes. His fast start helped Morgan build a 21–6 lead, giving the home side an advantage it continued to extend throughout the evening.

Morgan entered halftime ahead 47–26 and maintained its momentum after the break, finishing with a 95–58 victory to improve to 2–0. Worrell led all scorers with 20 points, Jeremiah Kwarteng added 16, and Trey Pettigrew contributed 12 off the bench.

The Bears’ depth helped sustain the pressure, with their reserves producing 42 points. Morgan also controlled the rebounding battle, 52–43, while limiting the Dragons to 30.4 percent shooting. Jacob Newman paced Virginia Lynchburg with 14 points, followed by Jordan Barr with 13.

Despite the comfortable margin, head coach Kevin Broadus emphasized the need for better execution and more consistent team basketball as the schedule becomes more demanding.
Morgan now turns its attention to its first road game, visiting Niagara on Saturday, November 7, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Final: Morgan State 95, Virginia University of Lynchburg 58
